Dear Reader,
Before I started writing dark romance thrillers, I only wrote contemporary romance. But I’ve always been such a huge fan of dark books. While I wrote my contemporary romance books, I read a lot of dark books on the side. In 2015, I finally closed my eyes and took a plunge into the dark with my first dark romance/psychological thriller, Veiled Obsession (His Agenda 1). It was so much fun to write. I completed the first draft in 4 weeks. I never looked back. I'm completely in love with my dark side. Why do I write dark romance/romantic thrillers? Because love isn't always a bed of silk and roses. There are so many broken hearts out there, people broken beyond repair…all because of love gone wrong. Love and romance can seem perfect today and expire tomorrow. The person you think you know could turn out to be a total stranger in the blink of an eye. Hot tears in the middle of the night, heartache so strong it feels physical, broken promises, shattered dreams...that's reality sometimes. I write for people who believe in love, but also those who have been scarred by it. But ultimately I write what I enjoy reading. Dark romance thrillers make my heart beat faster. They shake me up. They make me think. They give me chills, reminding me I’m alive. But now and then I do enjoy reading and writing something lighter and easier to digest. Right now, I'm really enjoying writing the After Hours Series. I'm falling in love with the LaClaire brother. I hope you are too. XOXO Dori P.S. What are your favorite dark romance books? They're are too many for me to pick just one! This genre of book has inspired me to begin my own series.
